I show my students how they can use their iPhones to setup a hotspot network, test it, then download the Raspberry Pi OS onto a microSD card, configure the card to run on both their personal Wi-Fi hotspot AND our university network (which verifies MAC addresses, and doesn’t use password verification for devices). It’s a quirky process and sometimes need to be re-tried, but it should work.
