Crypto mining is not just for the heavy duty GPU, ASICS, and server farms that have historically run the show. In fact with the advent of mining pools like minergate the enthusiast with micro compute can easily hook into the crypto network and begin mining various crypto currencies.
In this tutorial we will show you how to mine monero with a standard Raspberry Pi 4. This device has a few CPU cores which are available to mine coins like Monero XMR.

Create Minergate Account 0:30 – 1:10
Download CPU Miner 1:10 – 1:40
Update Raspberry Pi 1:40 – 1:50
Install Dependencies 1:50 – 1:58
Clone Miner Repo 1:58 – 2:05
Run Build Script 2:05 – 2:20
Execute Miner Script 2:20 – 2:40
Ensure Port 45700 is Open 2:40 – 3:38
Validate Mining Work on Minergate 3:38 – 4:00

Update Raspberry Pi
sudo apt full-upgrade

Execute Mining Script
