The first recorded history of roller use was through Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. He first used wooden roller in the 1950s as a therapeutic tool – not as massage equipment but as a mobile and dynamic surface. When he came to America in the 1970s, he was introduced to rollers made of high-density foam, and that’s when the popular use of rollers took off.
