EVA is a feminist short film by and with Julia Feige. It examines codes and dependencies in the fashion world and shows the gradual process of objectification. The borders of fiction and and reality are being blurred as Eva serves as a projection and a collective memory based on real experiences of different female individuals. Her name alludes to the creation of the first woman while its meaning originates from the Hebrew version “Chavah”/”Havah” which means “to breathe”.
Julia Feige is a Berlin based artist with an education in medicine. In her films and photographic art she explores female identities and social utopias.
“MESME“ (2018) is her debut project written and directed by her. It was selected for several screenings and festivals including “Die Werkstatt der Jungen Filmszene (54th edition 2019)“ in Wiesbaden and the “Institute of Contemporary Art“ in Boston. Moreover she has worked as a jury member for the next edition of the German film festival Junge Filmszene for young filmmakers in 2020.
