PRL-8-53 is a synthetic nootropic supplement, meaning it was created in a lab. Its full name is methyl 3-(2-(benzyl(methyl)amino)ethyl)benzoate. Researchers found that oral supplementation of PRL-8-53 was able to improve avoidance learning in rats.
04 PRL-8-53 (51352-87-5) History
PRL-8-53 (also known as Methyl 3-(2-(benzyl(methyl)amino)ethyl)benzoate or PRL-8-53 HCl) is a Nootropic research compound. It was first synthesized by a medical chemistry professor, Nikolaus Hansl at Creighton University in the 1970s, during research into amino ethyl meta benzoic acid esters.  The compound is derived from benzoic acid and phenylmethylamine (Benzylamine) and has been shown to have memory-enhancing effects.
The exact mechanism of action for PRL-8-53 is not yet fully understood. However, in the original patent research, it was indicated that dosages of up to 200 mg/kg did not possess stimulant properties. Furthermore, dosages of 20 mg/kg did not potentiate the effects of dextroamphetamine.
