It is good for those who give to missions, the entity, the individuals providing leadership as staff members. Sandy and I also share why a conversation about MONEY in the SBC needs to begin and lead to action. Either compliance or resignations are in order beginning with SBC Exec. Committee President and the NAMB President.
Following SBC governing documents to provide the required Salary Structures builds trust, while failing to do so will damage trust. It is simply required for the entities to provide the information to any member of a church in cooperation with the SBC.
SBC entities enhance trust by being good stewards of SBC mission gifts when they obey their rules. However, if they don’t, the violations of trust will or should cause people to not trust the missions entity.
Following rules for financial transparency and accountability not only builds trust, establishes solid stewardship, but it is good for the giver, good for the SBC entity and good protection to the SBC entity leadership to reduce the temptation to mishandle money from their powerful position.
