0. Culture differences: friend or foe?
This video is an introduction (numbered as ‘0’) to a series of 20 episodes (A), which contains ‘an investigation into serious violence against children’ for UNICEF in June 2019 in Copenhagen.
This introduction is about cultural differences between Afghanistan and the Netherlands and is important to achieve a first open-mind setting for the other 19 episodes that will be published every other day on this channel as of July 2020.
We, Dutch ex-military personnel, have learned that if you want to trade with developing countries so that both countries can reap the benefits (that is trade), not the cultural differences are the problem, but the organized crime that intimidates civilians and entrepreneurs there, injustice upholds and stops economic developments.
That is why these types of films and series are of great importance: they bring understanding to each other, create involvement, improve communication, are educational and promote trade.
Genre: military (Mars) and trade / business (Mercury).
These lessons learned about peacekeeping in Afghanistan were filmed in 2011, re-edited, given an introduction and subtitled in 2020, July 10th.
